Watched 2012 with the year 4s yesterday :)

Went to play the basketball game at the arcade bef the movie.
Shortage of funds.. Only bought enough tokens for 2 games.
Royston and i couldn't even get past the first round.
Damn.. he kept hitting my shots out with his.
I practically scored everything lol.
Kidding :D (hope he's not reading this)
Balls were flying everywhere, cos I threw too high.
The girls played next, and they pwned us -.-
Surprise surprise. They got to third round.
Could've sworn they broke the high score but it just didn't register on the machine..
-shrugs-

The movie was captivating :O
Esp with all the CGI scenes of mass carnage.
Action, adventure, comedy.
It was quite an emotional rollercoaster ride as the family in the movie struggled to survive the apocalypse.
So emotional jiuhui teared at this one part.
There were some crude and funny parts too LOL.
But the show was very long! Much longer than we'd expected, at least.
Almost 3 hrs?
Left us with tired eyes, giddy heads and, for royston and me, empty stomachs.

So the rest accompanied both of us to dinner @ food junction :)
After that, hy had to go already!
Only regret: forgot to take a team pic bef hy left :(

The remaining 5 of us went to walk around TM and tampines one.
At first it was just to cure my indigestion from laughing too much during dinner.
Until chengling had a brilliant idea to buy a team something :)
As to what that "something" should be, we debated endlessly.
Had to roam around, see some disgusting prices and products..
Bef we decided on a simple shirt.

But that was just the beginning lol.
Went on to raid sportslink, uniqlo (is that how it's spelt?) and other shops.
Found quite a cute yellow tee at uniqlo.
Too cute for me, not cute enough for royston, and just cute enough for the girls.
But heck, we just went to try it on.
Thought it was quite comfy actually, until royston stepped out of the fitting room.
We eyed each other, and "GOD, we look like gays!"
Too late.
The shop assistant started giggling at us, and the rest had a good laugh at the joke of the day.
Esp ct. She laughed so loud -.-
Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), the shop didn't have enough stock of that shirt.
Forget it.

We found something cool at hang ten!
Finally!
Could go home satisfied :)

Yup the poster is self-explanatory, but i dunno why there's no men's/women's doubles.

WKW finally ended on Sunday!
with us in the 3rd/4th placing match against tkgs, it wasn't an easy one
we made a risky move by pairing chengling with huiyun, and myself with tsejie
so basically what we did was weaken our singles and strengthen our doubles
we almost lost 0-3, because tkgs also strengthened their doubs ><
luckily we managed to pull through and won with an eventual score of 3-2
^^

the prize presentation will be on this sunday, 4.30pm
meet at aljunied mrt 3.30pm?

(i'll confirm with mr kwok whether we need to wear uniform)

What? Self training.
Who? B boys, or at least those who are free.
When? ~~29/6~~, 1/7, 3/7.
Where? Marine Parade community centre.
How (much to pay)? $7 for all 3 trainings, split the cost of the courts.
Why? Off-season now - best time to train up.

Wanted to accomodate the girls too but the place only has 3 courts.
If some guys can't make it and we got space we'll call the rest of b'div along!

Anyway i've an idea on how to improve the overall fitness of our team.
On our way to mpcc right, 2 or 3 of us will pass our bags to the rest and run there,
while the rest take bus there.
Should be around 4+ km i think.

Sigh we lost 2-3 to amk today.
It was so close, very wasted.
Just like this year's nationals, history repeats itself.
Was telling matthew we're like michael ballack, always missing by a lil.
But it was a good fight and we played well on the whole.
Back to training i guess.
Whatever doesn't kill you can only make you stronger :)

Both our guys' teams got through to quarters! :D
That's like the furthest dhsbt guys have ever made it in this tournament :O
Both of us won our opponents 3-1 today.
Tough fight for both teams though, anybody could've won.

Drew the lots immediately after our matches ended,
and we got a good draw for tomorrow: amk a :)
Our b team weren't as fortunate though, they got montfort.
But nvm, get who also must pia mia mah :D

Both our guys' teams lost to RI yesterday.
Valiant effort though :)

Haha anyway ct we're not up against winner of winner pool tomorrow,
it's the strongest from our group's loser pool - hwa chong.
Toby (the organiser) says we're in for the match of our lives tomorrow to qualify for quarters.
They have 2 strong singles and 1 strong doubles.
Fight ah :D

wee kim wee girls won their 2nd match against Nan Hua High yesterday (:
so we're in quarters now! :D
next match on this coming friday 1pm
we'll know who our opponents are on thursday when they draw the lots
if we win our friday match we'll be in semis and most probably meeting RGS A

We won Kuo Chuan Presbyterian 3-1 today :)

Dunman High B won ACS barker 3-1 yesterday too, but our C team lost to SJI 0-3.

Next match for A and B team will be on sunday against St Gabriel A and Dunman Sec A respectively, while our C team will be playing with either AMK A or Huayi.

All the best to Dunman High C and our girls team for tomorrow! :D

AMK YEC Badminton Youth Challenge

Saw this poster outside tampines SH, and our senior yongtse also recommended this tournament to us.

Discussed with the twins yesterday and we came up with one team (tentative):
Chengling, Chengting, Huiyun, Jiuhui, Matthew, Zhiyi, Zhien, Royston, Zhengnan, me.
Like that can rotate and swap positions each match.
Originally wanted to fit in everybody but they only limited us to 10 per team :\
Not sure if everybody listed is keen though, gotta ask em.
So the rest of y'all wanna form your own teams and participate? :)

Some info according to yongtse:
First prize is $400.
And as for the registration fee, each person just has to contribute 5 bucks.
No repetition of players, not even for the mixed doubles.

Anybody else interested in joining? c'div also can.
I'll inform renhao and tsejie.
If there are any takers you can either tell me or contact the organisers as stated on the poster.

Training today was okay :)
Strokes, drills, matches.

It's difficult for me, zhengnan and royston to arrange stuff for everybody :\
Y'all must think also leh! Especially the year 3 girls.
You know best what you need to work on or what you wanna do.
Cos i'm at a loss! Haha.
Would be easier if the year 4 girls or matthew were there.. but then again, not enough courts.
真是左右为难.

Oh well, it's not really training lah.
Just making sure everybody touches their racket this week.
Maintain form until wkw.
But i got a few ideas for thursday :)

Hey b'div! Here are our arrangements for next week.

Tuesday and thursday we'll be having self training at tampines SH, 10-12.
For tuesday, it'll be courts 6, 8, and 11.
As for thursday, courts 7, 8 and 9.
Anyway the receptionist flipped out on me when I asked how much it'd cost.
"-tsk- $3.50 per hour. You go count yourself lah!" -.-

After training on tuesday it gets a lil messy cause we're not sure whether we're going aviva.
So please think it through and make up your mind.
Everybody can go, cause it's free admission for the qualifying round.

But wednesday, we can meet at bedok interchange and take bus 16 to s'pore indoor stadium.
It starts at 9 so I'm not sure what time y'all would wanna meet. 8?
Or y'all don't wanna go for the whole day?
Thursday easier cause we can all go together after training :)
The arrangements for the rest of the days we'll discuss on thursday.

Fyi here are the aviva tournament schedule and route info for bus 16.
